MH-60M Blackhawk

The MH-60M special operations helicopter has a fully integrated, digitized, open avionics architecture providing a glass-cockpit, fully coupled flight director, Embedded GPS/INS navigation system, integrated Blue Force Tracker and digital moving map system. The Integrated Vehicle Health Management System (IVHMS) reduces maintenance workload and sets the stage for full implementation of Condition Based Maintenance.
The Blackhawk is the U.S. military’s premier transport helicopter for special operations. Carrying a crew of four and up to eleven passengers, it is often armed with side window-mounted GAU/M134 7.62mm mini guns or M60/M240 machine-guns.

The MH-60X, a secret version of the UH-60 modified with low-observable technology which enables it to evade radar, along with extra blades on the tail rotor and other noise reduction measures, makes the craft much quieter than conventional UH-60s. The aircraft includes features like special high-tech materials, harsh angles, and flat surfaces found only in stealth jets. The modifications add several hundred pounds to the base helicopter including edge alignment panels, special coatings and anti-radar treatments for the windshields.
